Just try to complete everything you need to accomplish today. Most importantly with the stress and lack of sleep, take time for YOU!
I spent FAR TOO MUCH money today. Between the lunch, we bought for everyone and then all the fees and little charges and $110 marriage license itself. Crazy expensive amounts of money were spent today.
2:10 max. I didn't feel well all night/morning.
Over the moon but so scared ... perhaps, cautions?
We are officially getting married.
I got myself a haircut today because I wanted to make sure I had layers and pretty hair.
I’ve been up since around 2 am this early morning. Bare with me with any information that might not make any sense. I am going to sum this up very briefly and put in as much information as I can in the boxes to describe the specifics.
This morning, the boys eventually finally arose out of bed. I had been long up already. Fast forward, everyone was where they belonged and we headed to the courthouse to file for our marriage license. Mike did not have a proper birth certificate, so that was our first stop. We went in, filled out the form, and about 10-15 minutes we paid for two copies and headed down the corridor to the next room. We walked in and sat down to start to file for the license. We filed everything as efficiently as we could. We were told seven days exactly. ::grr:: I was irritated because, had there been a way to waive it to be sooner or even a way to believe that the 5-day rule was, in fact, true as many had indicated, that I would have been able to pick it up on Monday, my birthday. Alas, Mike said he would arrange with work that he would come in before work and pick it up immediately in the morning on Tuesday. *sigh* Oh well. Convenience would have been nice for this situation but everything was going so smoothly I didn’t want to push it.
We walked out not even an hour after arriving. Our license was filed. It would be available on July 31st. Our official wedding date is 08/08/2018. Mainly because our original, this-is-how-long-we-have-been-dating-for date is 01/08 and I wanted the eighth so I could go, you married me exactly 13 years and seven months after asking me to start dating you. Haha! Also, I realized it was pretty cool to be 08/08/2018.
We found out a little more information and little things that we need to figure out and configure as to going to and from the courthouse to file all the paperwork and receive it. Unfortunately, it’s a little harder than we had anticipated but, I guess I cannot complain. We are about 50% married at this point.
Immediately after leaving the courthouse, we arrived home to retrieve Grandpa’s ring. We ended up talking to Mom for a while and telling her how everything went.
We went to get Grandpa’s ring sized. We stressed about six or seven times how absolutely important, no, vital it is that this would be taken care of, PROPERLY. She ended up giving us a deal because Grandpa was a customer of theirs while he was alive and had purchased Grandma’s 25th wedding anniversary necklace there. She took sympathy that this was the same day of his passing just last year.
She stated it would be about a week and it would be as though it was brand new again. We cannot wait to see it.
I really want to get a picture of us holding hands with our rings or something because his ring is so important and significant.
Well, it’s nearly 20 hours since I’ve been awake and I need to fill out all the boxes. Just wanted to inform you of how my ‘I’m officially after thirteen years and seven months am getting married” wedding start processing day.
